IN MODIGLIANA IT IS “TERRA MOSSA” AGAIN

THE FESTIVAL IS BACK AND FOCUS ON WOMEN

TERRA MOSSA, TERRA DONNA

Terra Mossa, Modigliana's "restart festival", is back in July.
The program - this year all female - features Nada, Cristina Donà and many other artists.
Last year, with an unprecedented participation, Terra Mossa became one of the symbols of recovery and pride of the Romagna region after the floods and landslides.

The days to mark on the calendar are July 19 and 20, 2024, but there are also small previews on the program, and a festive epilogue. If last year it was Capossela and Finardi who led a caravan of local and non-local artists (all of whom came free of charge) in front of a crowded town, this year the Festival is starting again from a new and curious corner.

La Città delle Donne” is the Fellini subtitle of the 2024 edition, immediately making the chosen theme clear.
“For better or for worse, this festival was born from the earth – explains the artistic director Antonio Gramentieri, aka Don Antonio - The earth that broke away from the mountains and devoured portions of the territory, the earth to which we want to remain tied, and that we want to help restart. When we decided to propose the festival again, the idea was to begin a reflection on the relationship with the Earth. Starting from the idea of mother earth, earth generator of life, it was inevitable to first assume a point of view, so to speak, feminine...”

The calendar has certainly become feminine, with only female artists, singers, performers, and so on scheduled.
Nada, Cristina Donà, Mara Redeghierii (formerly Ustmamò) are the leading names, but there is no shortage of new interpreters on the Italian scene such as Maria Antonietta, Emma Nolde, Arianna Pasini and Marta Delgrandi. Together with them, many other interpreters from the folk (Fede N Marlen, Noemi Valzano) and jazz (Sara Jane Ghiotti and Silvia Valtierii, The Last Coat of Pink) areas. Representing the theater is Elena Bucci, as a bridge between the arts, the singer and performer Francesca Amati (formerly Comaneci) and a talk by photographer Silvia Camporesi, who curated a photographic research on behalf of the Region in Romagna devastated by bad weather.

“Hosting Nada, Cristina Donà and Mara Redeghieri on the same evening – Don Antonio points out – is a little dream and a tribute to different seasons of Italian female music that continue to create beauty and poetry even today. Juxtaposing these names with those of artists from other generations and other genres is a sign of continuity, and an invitation to listen”.
The weekend does not include tickets, but a spontaneous contribution from the public. In the days before, and on Sunday, off events are scheduled throughout the center of the town.

Terra Mossa Festival is organized by Pro Loco Modigliana and Big Ben APS, with the artistic coordination of Crinale Lab, the contribution of the Regione Emilia Romagna, Comune di Modigliana, Fondazione Cassa dei Risparmi Forlì and Credito Cooperativo Ravennate, Forlivese e Imolese, and with the support of the artists and the local community.
