LITOW

Light and Scars

LITOW the new album by the musician and songwriter Sergio Marazzi, a multifaceted artist living in Romagna for years, released on June 16th, by Strade Blu Factory editions, with physical distribution by Audioglobe and digital by Orchard.
A record that comes 12 years after the last one. Which in turn came 12 years after the first. Three records. Three different men. Three stories and three different worlds. Outside and inside. Three universes almost unrecognizable from each other, because of how much life has gone through them.

This new collection of songs comes out under the pseudonym LIGHT AND SCARS, because - the artist says - "that is what I feel I am at this moment in my life. Because only through what were once deep gashes of the soul, which are now signs that tell the map of an existence, could light penetrate. Which is always healing".

LITOW is not an english word, but an acronym that stands for Love Is The Only Way, the only chance. 12 tracks, conceived and sung in English, which speak of love, even parental love, of diversity, of the pain it often brings with it, and much more.
Characterized by typical "American rock" sounds, the album was recorded at the Crinale Lab, the artistic production center on the hills of Romagna, between Modigliana and Brisighella, with the artistic production of Don Antonio Gramentieri and the participation of some of the most talented musicians from the local and non-local scene, including Nicola Peruch (keyboards), Piero Perelli and Denis Valentini (drums and percussion), Daniela Peroni (vocals) and Don Antonio himself (electric and acoustic guitars, bass, synths and keyboards).

Then mixed by Ivano Giovedì and Don Antonio at the Waveroof Studio in Castel Bolognese (RA) and mastered by Alex McCollough at the True East Studio in Nashville, Tennessee.

The physical release was preceded by the digital distribution of the singles "Around the Bend", "Dreamer" with the participation of the great American songwriter Alejandro Escovedo and "Just a matter of time", which also gives the title to the official video of the album, written and directed by the artist, with the technical support of Stefano Giorgetti, Uberstudio, Cesenatico.

The record got the support of Emilia-Romagna Region, as part of the 2023 Call of the L.R. 2/2018 “Regulations on the development of the music sector”.

"Inevitably, the last three years have fallen heavily into these tracks. Three years that marked a momentous transition and painfully opened a furrow. Deep. A real crevasse. A rift that can never be recomposed. The video for "Just a Matter of Time" establishes without hesitation on which side of the crevasse the soul of these songs finds its breath and home. And the world he wants to live in. Enjoy listening and... LITOW!” Light and Scars
