Vecc Burdel

Vince Vallicelli

The old man and the child, the same person.
Vecc Burdel by Vince Vallicelli, the third piece of the dialectal trilogy, the blues of the traveler who returns home, meets the dialect of his own land and still does not stop.
The experience of the old man and the amazement of the child, the wisdom and the impetuosity. Always together, in an embrace that does not break. In search of the essence, of the substance before one's own feeling, the mutant matter of sound to tell it. The Sound, which exists and speaks even before becoming known. The wood skin iron that vibrates under your hands, and tells your story.
A sound that is a seed, which then bears fruit, grows, takes other directions, tells the eternal dance between who we have been and who we are becoming. Old children, forever.

Vecc Burdel is a record of songs that comes out of the swamps of La Fevra, leaves behind the reflection on a disease of the soul that takes you, knocks you down and then regenerates you and engages with a wider sound, which encompasses all souls and the stages of Vince's journey. Always with the dialect to reiterate that the road has brought home in any case, that there is always a journey and there is always a home.

A record of stories and sound, recorded live at the Crinale Lab with a dry quartet (Roberto Villa on bass, Nicola Peruch on piano and organ, Don Antonio on guitars) that also plays with rock, with the German Motorik of the 70s , with Canterbury folklore, with Italian soundtracks from the golden age. And sings about the things found, and the things lost. Sing the nature in which you mirror yourself, sing the dreams and melancholies, sing the little desire of an ordinary day, where life flows without particular stimuli, and that's okay: a long life, but slow as a blues.
Vince goes back behind the drums, for this record, but continues to stand in front, with his face and his stories. The old man, and the child, play and experience.

Vince Vallicelli, a musician with a thousand lives, is one of the most important Italian drummers. In the last fifty years he has played with Secondo Casadei, prog with Danilo Rustici's Uno in the expansive London of the 70s, Italian pop rock with Gianna Nannini, Eugenio Finardi, Pierangelo Bertoli and many others, blues at all latitudes with the best European and world performers, jazz with Jimmy Villotti and Pippo Guarnera, ethnic music with Nabla, songs with Solfrini. He also deals with meditation and music therapy. For about fifteen years he has decided to tell his own stories, with his own language, at his own pace. In dialect he published Com un Can Sota alla Lona, La Fevra and today Vecc Burdel.

The record was made thanks to the contribution of the Emilia-Romagna Region, as part of the 2021 Call for Regional Law. 2/2018 "Norme in materia di sviluppo del settore musicale".
